Short Manaslu Circuit Trek 7 Days Itinerary

The journey of the short Manaslu Circuit Trek 7 Days is one of the demanding treks in terms of physical fitness. Nowadays, the road is okay to drive up to Jagat. Therefore, we don’t stay in Machha Khola instead we will travel to Jagat. Trekking starts from this village.

20 kilometers must be completed in about 6 to 8 hours to reach the village of Deng from Jagat. The trail has few uphill sections otherwise the trail is along the Budi Gandaki River without vertical steep sections. Deng to Namrung is also about 20 kilometers but it is tiring than trekking from Jagat to Deng. There are many steep uphill sections and several crossings using the suspension bridges. We gain about 890 m elevation while trekking from Namrung to Samagaon and cover about 18 kilometers.

Is it safe to avoid acclimatization in Samagaon?

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Jagat (1300m) Duration: 9-11 hours.

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and we will head towards the Jagat Village. We will travel through Dhadingbeshi, Aarughat, Aarkhet, Soti Khola, and Machha Khola to reach Jagat. The road condition up to Aaruhghat Bazaar is well maintained. Therefore, we don’t have any issues but the road condition from Aarughat to Jagat is off road. Machha Khola to Jagat is relatively new track and you can expect more bumpy rides! After about 9 to 11 hours of jeep journey, we will reach Jagat and check in the tea house. Overnight in a tea house

Day 02: Trek from Jagat to Deng (1860m) Duration: 5-6 hours.

We will begin our trekking today after breakfast. Our permits will be checked in the Jagat village in the Manaslu Conservation Area Project permit check post. The trail from Jagat to Deng is along the banks of Budi Gandaki River. There are many uphill and downhill sections but relatively we will be walking on the newly opened road track. In few sections, we may have to walk on the off road otherwise today is good to walk as it is also the first day of trekking. Overnight in a tea house

Day 03: Trek from Deng to Namrung (2630m) Duration: 5-6 hours

We will have to walk on the challenging uphill sections today. However, the trail is well maintained and we will walk through various villages and green lush forests environment listening to the raging sounds of the Budi Gandaki River. We will have to trek through small village like Ghap to enter the Namrung Village. Overnight in a tea house

Day 04: Trek from Namrung to Samagaon, (3,530m) Duration: 6-7 hours.

After breakfast, we will start our trekking from the Namrung Village. Our journey today is long and it traverses through Sho, Lho, and Shyala Village. We will have our lunch in the any of these villages according to the ground situation. Upon reaching the Samagaon, we will do the short hike to Birendra Lake as a part of short acclimatization activity. We will begin today’s trek early in the morning afte the early breakfast. Therefore, we get chance to visit the Birendra Lake at least to fulfill our task of acclimatization. After visiting the Birendra Lake, we will return back to Samagaon and rest. If we get time then we will explore this beautiful and last densely populated village of the Manaslu Circuit Trek route. Overnight in a tea house

Day 05: Trek from Samagaon to Dharamsala (4,460m) Duration 5-6 hours.

We will begin our trekking early in the morning with early breakfast. It is about 8 kilometers from Samagaon to Samdo Village. It takes about 2 to 2.5 hours for us to reach the village. We will continue our journey and stop at the Larke Bazaar for the lunch. Nearby the Larke Village, we can get two trails. One trail leads us to Nepal – Tibet China border and one leads us to the village of Dharmasala. We will follow the barren trail to Dharmasala. There are few trekking tea houses in Dharmasala and rest to prepare for the Larke La Pass crossing. Overnight in a tea house

Day 06: Trek to Bimtang (3,720m) via Larkya La Pass (5,106m) Duration: 8-9 hours.

Early in the morning before dawn we will begin our trekking. We will either request for very early breakfast or do packing. It is the long day of trekking. The journey is all about crossing Nepal’s one of the longest high – altitude passes. It is joyous moment witnessing the glorious sunrise while climbing to the top of the Larke La Pass. Upon reaching the top, we will spend about 15 to 20 minutes and continue descending to the Bimtang village. This is the most picturesque village located in the wide flatland terrain overlooking Larke La Pass, mountains, and river valleys. Overnight in a tea house

Day 07: Trek from Bhimthang to Tilje and drive to Besisahar to Kathmandu Duration: 10-11 hours.

After breakfast we will begin our trekking to Tilje Village. It is downhill trekking and it takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach Tilje for extremely fit trekkers. Upon reaching Tilje, we will hop on the jeep and drive to Lamjung. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach Besisahar. We will be starting the journey from Bimthang at around 4 or 5 am in the morning with packed breakfast as it is decided by the trekking guide according to the situation. It is the longest day of traveling to meet the days. Therefore, it may be hectic but please have patience as our guides and trekking crew members are well experienced and you can get all the logistic support without hassles.

Upon reaching the Besisahar, you will be transferred to Kathmandu on a comfortable private jeep. The total road distance between Besisahar and Kathmandu is about 175 kilometers. Therefore, in about 4 to 5 hours you can reach Kathmandu but the road condition and traffic congestion can stretch this road trip to 6 to 7 hours.
