Lower Dolpo Trek is Wonderful Trekking Route in Nepal

Lower Dolpo Trek route offers an outstanding trekking experience in the remote western region of Nepal and this route is also known as a hidden treasure and a remote trekking destination in Nepal. The area is populated by the ethics of the Tibetan origin Bon Po and Buddhist communities. It is situated in Karnali region of Nepal. The 18-day trek begins with visits to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. This trekking route offers you a remarkable and worthwhile experience of lifetime. This trekking route begins from the airstrip of juphal after a scenic flight from Nepaljung.  This trekking is a very dry and unproductive area and the daily life is very difficult but they were very humble and friendliness with their smiling faces.  We get to muse at the yak caravans that maintain the traditional salt trade with Tibet. It is a moderately strenuous walk along the lower part of Dolpo.

Lower Dolpo Trek is begins from Juphal and ends at Juphal. Beautiful lakes, ancient villages, people life style, Buddhist monasteries, Tibetan plateau and the traditional culture are the main attraction of the trek.  This region has been shown in all its integrity and full mystical experience. Day 08: Trek to Dho Tarap (3950m.) 6/7 hrs

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, The representatives by Everest Trekking Routes will welcome to you at TIA Upon your Arrival. We transfer to hotel overnight stay.

Day 02: Full day Sight Seeing Kathmandu Valley

After the breakfast, we spend the whole day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley as major point. One of the biggest Stupa in the world, Bouddhanath stupa and Monastry, Old heritage Buddhist temple Soyembhunath and Monastry, Kathmandu Durbar Squer Kumari temple and Patan Durbar Squar krishna temple. The kathmandu sightseeing is real Nepalese traditional culture and heritage touring, After tour will back to hotel and preparation the Lower Dolpo trip overnight stay hotel.

Day 03: By Fly Kathmandu to Nepalgunj 1 hour

After breakfast Kathmandu to Nepalgunj take an hour’s by domestic air, after flight take lunch and visit to Nepalganj City which is biggest city in Southern part of Nepal. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 04 Fly Nepalgunj- Juphal / Trek Juphal- Dunai (2150m)

After breakfast flight to Juphal take 30 minute by little domestic air and trek to Dunai. Beginning trail is descends and wind cooler through pass several local village continue edge of river side. We will see on the way many of water mill to granted flower from white, corn, millet and some other food. The elevation of Dutai (2125m) the Dunai is middle town has Police check post, school and government offices. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Tarakot (2540m) 5-6 hrs

After breakfast trek to Tarakot following the bheri river bitten track of trail. We will pass several local villages and some Buddhist monastery and also mani wall stones with cultivating field. The tarakot is small settlement of which is thuli very river famous and ancient independent kingdom of Tichorung. And stay overnight at Camp.

Day 06: Trek to Laini Odar (3375m.) 4-5 hrs

 After breakfast trek to tarakot and wonderful landscape and several pass which is Laisicap (2775m.) and Kaigaun (2950m.) Excellent Himalayan scenery Including Putha himchuli, Churen himal and others beauty nature’s stay overnight at Camp sited.  

Day 07: Lain Odhar to Nawarpani (3950m) 6 hour

After breakfast trek to Nawarpani it takes 6-7 hours spectacular Himalayan scenery and several pass Chhyugar (3440m.) and Taltol (3530m.) toward the deepest gorges with scary cliffs stay overnight at Campsite.

Day 08: Trek to Dho Tarap (3950m.) 6/7 hrs

After breakfast trek to Dhor Tarap wonderful trekking along the bank of Larap khola via Ghyamghar and Langa, The Dho Tarap fascinating settlement of that manifests the real attributes Lower dolpo. Famous settlement of lower dolpo Nestles high above the wide valley and stay overnight at camp.  

Day 09: At Dho Tarap for Acclimatization

Acclimatization day at Tarap Explore Dho Tarap visit to beautiful Monastery  like Ringo Bumpa Monastery which is secrete monastery build by Jimge Nyima  Gyaltzen and lama tenzing  Tragye 1000 years ago . To get rid of spirits wondering in the region, Amazing architecture of samye Monastery in Tibet, 12th Century Lots of history related and general information explain by mountain guide. And stay overnight at Camp.  

Day 10: Trek to Numa La Base Camp (4350m.) 4-5 hrs

After breakfast trek to Num La Base Camp we will pass several authentically school and villages (4209m) with dramatic views of Shering Gompa and stay overnight at Camp.

Day 11: Trek to Danighar (4510m) via Numa La Pass (5310m) 6/7 hrs

After breakfast trek to Danighar is challenging day and Danighar vial Num La Pass which is (5310m.) very difficult uphill to Numa La takes around 4 hours. The scenery wonderful Dhaulagiri, Norbung Kang and Churen himal , the trekkers follow the gyampo khola and stay overnight at Camp.

Day 12: Trek to Temche (4000m.) via Baga La Pass (5170m) 5-6 hrs

After breakfast continue to Temche A demanding trek goes vertical uphill climb to Gaga La pass, it ofers great view of Norbung Lang Peak and the entire Phoksundo Lake and then trek descend down to the beautiful meadow Temche stay overnight at Camp

Day 13: Trek to Phoksundo(3600m) 6 hours

Trek down to Yak Kharka, and ascends again towards Ringmo through the lush vegetation of pines, junipers and cypres with the stunning views of towering cliffs and the highest waterfall in Nepal on the right, the trail finally stretches to Ringmo, a famous Bon settlement in the region. The final thirty minute downhill trek from Ringmo finally brings us to the mesmerizingly beautiful lake, Phoksundo stay overnight at camp.

Day 14: Explore the Phoksundo Lake

Today Explore Ringmo village, Phoksundo Lake and its monasteries Ringmo village, a typical Tibetan village, is scenic view from Phoksundo Lake. Many beautiful glaciers can be found near and above the lake area. There are many monasteries (Gompas ) and Bon-po religious sites at the park and we spend our time visiting some of these.

Day 15: Trek to Chepka (6 hrs)

Breakfast and trek uphill and downhill via Chunuwar  Rechi through forest of pines, birches and bamboo with last view of Phoksundo Lake. Stay overnighs at lodge.

Day 16: Trek to Juphal (6 hrs)

After breakfast Trek to Juphal via Shyanta and Kalagaonda thorough arid landscapes first and then beautiful fields of barley and wheat surrounded by strong trees that include walnut, peach and apricot Juphal, a large village beautiful marketplace stay overnight at camp.

Day 17: Juphal to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj

End of the Trek and return to Nepalgunj take 30 minute Nepalgunj to Kathmandu an 1 hour by domestic air stay overnight at hotel.

Day 18: Final International Departure

We will drop you to the TIA for your final departure and happy journey your hometown, hope to see you again and good bye.
