Langtang Ganja la Pass Trek is Moderate High Pass

Langtang Ganja la Pass Trek is one of the difficult Himalayan pass with a high of 5132 and in this trekking route the trekker can enjoy Buddhist culture and traditions. This trekking is one of the best and famous trekking of the langtang region. We also make an interesting trip to Tserko Ri which offers awesome views of langtang Himalayan range. This trekking is the most challenging yet rewarding with beautiful nature’s sight and Tibetan tribe culture and this valley has such a compact, diverse and interesting place trek.  In this trekking we can see beautiful sightseeing as well as beautiful Buddhist monastery on the way. In just a few days traverse the lower Himalayan foothills and reach active glaciers in the high Himalaya and there are so many opportunities for side treks, circuit treks, high mountain pass traverses and peak climbing all within the beautiful Langtang Valley.  This trekking trail makes a steep along the ridge on the south side of the valley through a forest of rhododendron and juniper.

Langtang Ganja la Pass Trek begins from a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, a 7 hours’ drive and then the trail leads us ahead to the mesmerizing Langtang valley where we trek to Lama Hotel then following up to Mundu (3,403m) through the traditionally rich Langtang village. This trekking trail continues south, following streams and moraines and climbing steeply towards the pass. The trek begins from Syabrubesi, via the Kanyanjing Gompa crosses the mighty Ganja La pass, and ends at the Melamchi Pul Bazar in the Helambu region. We can explore the valley and riverbeds around Kyangjin Gompa as it are a beautiful sight and the trek becomes challenging as the elevation is high. The people living the highlands of the Langtang region are certainly the Nepalis, being the descendant of the Tibetan origin, they still look like Tibetans. There are so many opportunities for side treks, circuit treks, high mountain pass traverses and peak climbing all within the beautiful Langtang Valley.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 6 hrs
Day 05: Trek to Mundu (3543m/11,621ft) via Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6-7 hrs
Day 06: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 3 hrs. Explore the area.
Day 07: Explore Tserko Ri (5000m/16,404ft) 7-8 hrs
Day 08: Trek to Ganja La phedi (4300m/14,104 ft): 5-6 hr

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, The representatives by Everest Trekking Routes will welcome to you at TIA Upon your Arrival. We transfer to hotel overnight stay.

Day 02: Full day Sight Seeing Kathmandu Valley

After the breakfast, we spend the whole day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley as major point. One of the biggest Stupa in the world, Bouddhanath stupa and Monastry, Old heritage Buddhist temple Soyembhunath and Monastry, Kathmandu Durbar Squer Kumari temple and Patan Durbar Squar krishna temple. The kathmandu sightseeing is real Nepalese traditional culture and heritage touring, After tour will back to hotel and preparation the Langtang Ganja La  Pass Trip overnight stay hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft): 145 km/ 7 hrs

After spending one night in Kathmandu we slowly drive to Syabrubasi which is 145 km from the Kathmandu valley. We will have lunch on the way and continue to drive  It takes 7 hours to reach Syabrubesi from Kathmandu valley and we will stay overnight at lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 6 hrs

After Breakfast trek to lama hotel, It takes 6 hours to reach lama hotel from the Syabrubesi, we will continue to follow up langtang valley river and lot’s bamboo forest into trekking trail. because if weather is good then will see many type of wild animals as Red Panda, mountain longur, squer, wild board, dear and many type of birds. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Mundu (3543m/11,621ft) via Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6-7 hrs

After warm breakfast we trek to Mundu through langtang village which is totally disaster by earthquake 2015 slowly rebuilt some tea house Elevation of of 3543m mundu from the sea level. It takes more than 6 to7 hours to reach Mundu from Lama Hotel and we will stay overnight at lodge.

Day 06: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 3 hrs

After warm breakfast we will slowly start our trek to Kyangjime Gompa , take delicious lunch and visit to Monastery Explore day at Kyangin gompa stay overnight at lodge.

Day 07: Explore Tserko Ri (5000m/16,404ft) 7-8 hrs   

 Early morning take breakfast and hike up Tserkuri peak which is 5100m above the sea level. it take 7/8 hours walks. We have to pack lunch on day hike up. When we rich on Tserkuri peak, if weather is clear we will incredible view from the peak. Langtang Lirung, Nayakang, Ganja la pass and Ganesh Himal. Then return to same lodge stay overnight at lodge.

Day 08: Trek to Ganja La phedi (4300m/14,104 ft): 5-6 hr

After warm breakfast we will trek to Ganja la Phedi. It takes 6 hours on foot and set up tent and cook for light food, preparation for next day Adventure Ganja La Pass which is top Adventure less touristic area of langtang valley. Stay overnight at Tent.

Day 09: Cross the Ganja La pass (5122m/16,800 ft) Trek to Keldang (4250m/13,940ft): 6/7 hr    

The hardest pass to compare others trekking pass in Nepal, after breakfast we will have be strong team as grouping because some part of tiny and use for rope and take cares all members be strong self as well. Continue Ganja la pass stay overnight at tent.

Day 10: Trek to Yak Kharka (4000m/13,120ft): 5/6 hr

We make our challenging part which is ganja la pass and tired body rest at yak Kharka trek to Keldang 6/7 hours. After ganja la pass we will have beautiful day and try to rich our destination stay overnight at tent.

Day 11: Trek to Tarke Gyang 2,590m: 5/6 hrs

After spending one night in Yak kharka we slowly trek to Tarke Gyang which is at the height of 2590m from the sea level. It takes 5 to 6 hours to reach tarke Gyang from the Yak kharka and we will stay overnight in Tarke Gyang.   

Day 12: Trek to Sermathang (2,610m/8,563ft): 3/4 hr

After having breakfast in Tarkegyang we slowly trek to Sermathang which is the height at the 2610m above from the sea level. It takes 4 hours to reach Sermathang from Tarkegyang and we will stay overnight in Sermathng.

Day 13: Trek to Melamchi Pul Bazaar and drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast we will continue trek to Melamchi pul Bazaar, It takes 4 hours and try to catch up Vehicle transfer to Kathmandu stay overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Final International Departure

We will drop you to the TIA for your final departure and happy journey your hometown, hope to see you again and good bye.
