Annapurna Circuit Trek is Amazing highest Thorong La Pass 5416m

Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most famous treks in the world which is also known as the Annapurna Trek. The Annapurna region is must-visit trekking destination with amazing landscapes and spectacular vistas in the Annapurna Conservation Area. The trek starts with a drive and then easy walking providing you with a variety of landscapes, through diverse cultural mountain communities of the Gurung, Manangi, and Thakali people.  This trekking route is various and can be completed as a whole over 12 to days or you can trek certain sections ranging from 3 days and up. The highest point of the trek is the Throung La pass at the top of the valley at 5416 meters. Due to the difficulties of crossing the pass, the circuit is usually walked in a counter clockwise direction. Altitude sickness is common among novice trekkers. It is great both for those seeking and challenging and for those looking for a trek that can be tailored to suit a shorter more easygoing pace.

Annapurna Circuit Trek makes a circle of the Annapurna Himalayan range itself and passes through the immense Marsyangdi river and Kaligandaki valleys. The Kaligandaki is the deepest gorge in Annapurna. The route continues to Muktinath from Throung Phedi over the Throung La,In Muktinath there is a very holy Hindu temple where you will see many pilgrims. The trails lead to Tatopani via the villages of Marpha and Ghasa. The sun rise views from Mt Dhaulagiri in the early morning from Poon Hill are breathtaking where we enjoy the sunrise over the beautiful Himalayan ranges.

This trek offers one of the most diverse and stimulating trekking routes in the world.

Day 01: Arrival in Katmandu, ETR Member will meet you and transfer you to your hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu to Syangee by Bus/Jeep. (1100m) 7 hours
Day 03: Trek to Dharapani. (1700m) 6/7 hours
Day 04: Trek to Chame (2660m) 6 hours
Day 05: Trek to Upper Pisang (3185m) 5 hours
Day 06: Trek to Ngawal (3600m) 6 hours
Day 07: Trek to Manang (3550m) 5 hours
Day 08: Manang (Acclimatization & Explore)
Day 09: Trek to Ledar (4200m) 6 hours
Day 10: Trek to High Camp (4800m) 5 hours
Day 11: Trek toThorong La Pass (5416m). Continue to Muktinath (3800m) 7hours
Day 12: Trek to Marpha (2670m) 6 Hours
Day 13: Marpha to Tatopani by jeep. (1100m) 4 hour drive.
Day 14: Trek to Ghorepani (2800m) 7 hours
Day 15: Early Morning Trek to Poon hill (3210m). Continue to Tadhapani (2650m) 6 hours
Day 16: Trek to Ghandrung (1940 m) 4 hours
Day 17: Trek to Nayapul 5 hours and drive to Pokhara 2 hours
Day 18:  Pokhara to Kathmandu by Bus/Jeep/Plan 6/7 hours
Day 19: Final International Departure


Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Katmandu

After arriving in Kathmandu, a delegate from Everest Trekking Routes will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you may take a rest or visit the Everest Trekking Routes office. In the evening there will be welcome dinner given by Everest Trekking Routes where you will be served Nepalese food which will introduce you to the country’s food culture.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Syangee by Bus/Jeep.7 hour (1100m)

We drive from Kathmandu to Beshishahar by express bus for about 7 hour s and then transfer to a local jeep to transfer to Syangeewhere we stay overnight.

Day 03: Trek to Dharapani. (1700m) 6/7 hrs)

After breakfast we slowly start trekking towards Dharapani.  As we walk away from Tal, the path becomes rugged and winding. We approach the steeply-forested village of Kartemeandering along the waterfalls and cliffs, we finally reach Dharapani after crossing a suspension bridge where we stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Chame (2660m, 6 hrs)

Whilst walking to Chame we get the opportunity to see amazing views of the Himalayas including LamjungHimal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV.Chame is theheadquarters of the Manang District.

Day 05: Trek to Upper Pisang (3185m 5 hour.)

Today we trek to Upper Pisang. This route will bring us to the dramatic curved rock face, rising 1500m from the river. It takes almost 5 hours to trek here from Chame. From here we continue for a short time to Upper Pisang where we spend the night.

Day 06: Trek to Ngawal (3600m 6 hrs)

There are two routes that we can follow today an upper and lower. The lower, easier route follows the river to Ghyaruwith a couple of hours up stepswhere it meets the upper route and continues to Ngawal.This has very beautifulviews of Annapurna II, Manaslu, Annapurna IIII, Annapurna III, Chulu West and Chulu East andPisang Peak. We stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 07:  Trek to Manang (3540m 5 hrs)

After Ngawal we slowly walk to Manang which takes 5 hours.The trail now gradually descends to Mungji which has a nunnery above the village. It is the largest, oldest and best endowed gompa in the valley. Manang is a short walk from Braga and we stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 08: Manang (Acclimatization & Explore)

Today is a scheduled acclimatization day which should include a short walk to higher altitudes and back to prepare for the two challenging high altitude days to come. In this day we visit the Himalayan Rescue Association.We stay the night in Manang.

Day09: Trek to Ledar (4200m, 6 hrs)

After leaving Manang we slowly walk toLedar. Continuing along the JarsangKhola Valley, we reach Ledar at 4200m, there we see the vegetation become steadily more sparsewithlots of domestic yaks and wild blue sheep. It takes 6 hours from Manang with views of the beautiful Chulu West Peak and many other Annapurna Himalayan ranges. Stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 10:Trek to High Camp (4800m, 5 hrs)

After leavingLedar the trail descends to cross the river at 4310m, we then climb up to Phedi at 4420m and then the High Camp at the elevation of 4600m, where we can find some good Guest houses that have been recently built. It is 5 hours from Ledar.

Day 11: Trek to Thorong La Pass 5416m and continue to Muktinath (3800m, 7hrs)

After having breakfast in the early morning you will start your walk toThorong La pass. When you are at the top you will feel like you have conquered everything and the view from there makes you forget all the effort and difficulties you went through to make it there. We then continue to Muktinath.

Day 12: Trek to Marpha (2670m, 6 hrs)

Muktinathis an important pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhists alike. In the morning, we pay our visit to a Vishnu Temple and a Gompa. After leaving Muktinath we slowly walk for Marpha.The local apple brandy of Marpha is famous all over Nepal and we stay overnight at Marpha.

Day 13:Marpha to Tatopani by jeep. (1100m) 4 hour drive.


We drive to Tatopani from Marpha.It is 1100m above from the sea level. There are bigger villages in this area where we can observe the everyday lives of the local people and upon reaching Tatopani, we relax and have a bath in the hot spring.

Day 14: Trek to Ghorepani (2800m, 7 hrs)

After leaving Tatopani we slowly start our trip to Ghorepani which is 7 hours from Tatopani. It is 2800m above from the sea level. We stay one night in Ghorepani.

Day 15:Early Morning Trek to Poon Hill (3210m.) and continue to Tadhapani (2650m 6 hrs)

Poon hill is the most popular trekking destination of the Annapurna region. In the early morning we climb to Poon Hill to see the awesome views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre and others. The panoramic views with the sunrise over the Himalayas will take your breath away. After taking in the views of this panoramic scenery we return back to Ghorepani. After breakfast, we head east and climb a nearby ridge to descend through rhododendron forests, pass by spectacular waterfalls and reach Tadapani to spend the night.

Day 16: Trek to Ghandrunk (1940 m.)

We have a short pleasant, largely downhill walk through forest and farmland with occasional views of the mountains to Ghandruk: a densely settled, clean and modern Gurung village. It is 1940m above sea level.

Day 17: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

After breakfast we trek to Nayapul via Birethanti, this takes about 4-5 hours. Then we drive to Pokhara by private car or van and stay one night in Pokhara.

Day 18: Pokhara to Kathmandu by Bus/Jeep/Plan

You can take a flight or drive by tourist bus/private car to Kathmandu and have lunch on the way. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Final International Departure

We will drop you at the International Airport with our vehicle for your departure and we will see you off.
