Everest Gokyo Lake Trek

Everest Gokyo Lake Trek offers a more beautiful way of exploring popular Khumbu region. We get an exclusive opportunity to witness the beautiful turquoise lakes and the highest Himalayas. This trekking route give us an opportunity to know about the Sherpa culture and most importantly it gives us a chance to create wonderful memories around the foothills of the Highest Himalayas. The trek starts from Lukla after a half hour mountain flight from Kathmandu. From there we follow the Dudh Koshi River towards Namche, the gateway of the Khumbu region. The trek advances to the base of the world’s tallest mountain mapped out with spectacular vistas from such celebrated viewpoints as Gokyo Ri. This trekking route is the best destination if you are really interested in mountains and alpine scenery.It has the most beautiful panoramas of the Everest Himalayas from the top of Gokyo Ri which immerse us in its natural beauty.

Everest Gokyo Lake Trek is quite a challenging adventure in the Everest region. This trek is only fit for trekkers who are physically fit and possess tremendous passion for exploring the best of Himalayan nature. It is the only place from where you can observe Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu and Makalu at once and from here you can also see the largest glacier in Nepal named Ngozumpa. In this region we can see the largest monastery in the Khumbu region of Nepal. This trekking route gives us an excellent view of the lakes as well as the scenic view of Mt. Everest and other surrounding mountains of the Everest region.This trip can be done in the months of March, April, May, September, October and November. This trekking route is less crowded than the Everest Base Camp Trek.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trek Preparation
Day 03: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): 8km, 3 – 4 hours trek
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 – 6 hours
Day 05: Acclimatization Day – Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)
Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Dole (4000m5-6 hours
Day 07: Dole to Machhermo (4,470m) 4-5 hours
Day 08: Machhermo to Gokyo (4,800 m/15,744) 4-5 hours
Day 09: Gokyo Valley: Acclimatization Day – Optional Hike to 5th Lake: 6-7 hours
Day 10: Trek to Gokyo Ri and back to Machhermo (4470m) Gokyo Ri (5357m), 8 hours
Day 11: Trek from Machhermo to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6 hour
Day 12: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft): 19km, 6 – 7 hours
Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu 30 minute by domestic air
Day 14: Final  International departure


Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Arrival in Kathmandu, The representatives by Everest Trekking Routes will welcome to you at TIA Upon your Arrival. We transfer to hotel overnight stay.

Day 02: Full day Sight Seeing Kathmandu Valley

After the breakfast, we spend the whole day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley as major point. One of the biggest Stupa in the world, Bouddhanath stupa and Monastry, Old heritage Buddhist temple Soyembhunath and Monastry, Kathmandu Durbar Squer Kumari temple and Patan Durbar Squar krishna temple. The kathmandu sightseeing is real Nepalese traditional culture and heritage touring. After tour will back to hotel preparation the Everest Camp Trek Trip overnight stay hotel. 

Day 03: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): 40 minutes flight; 8km, 3 – 4 hours trek

Our Guide will transfer to Domestic airport and short lukla flight 30 minute and introduce our local mountain porters. Kick of your beautiful trek through larges village chourikharka and demented towards Dudhkoshi River and continue to Phakding (2652m. 8700ft.) we will have staying acclimatization stay overnight at lodge.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 – 6 hours

After hot breakfast trek to Namche Bazaar, the biggest village of khumbu region, which is most popular Himalayan city Touristic area same as Kathmandu and Pokhara. Trekking toward to Monjo Entering Sagarmath National Park and Trekkers Information Management System Main Gate. Flow up Dudhkoshi River and crossing highest double substance bridge bottom of the Namche. If have change to see mt. Everest on trail and continue to Namche. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day – Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)

Today Explore and Acclimatization day, after breakfast visit to Sherpa Museum which is popular by khumbu region about the Sherpa culture and history and will have hike to top of the Everest view point take cup of tea or coffee at Everest View lodge. If weather is perfect then will see Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Island Peak, Amadablam and Many Others Trekking peak.  When we return from Everest View point visit to Khumjung Village and Admon Hillary high school take lunch and back to Namche , Little sightseeing stay overnight at lodge.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Dole (4000m5-6 hours)

After breakfast continue to dole, it takes 5 to 6 hour and trail is uphill and downhill to Mongla which is Elevation of (4000m) descend to Phortse tenga take lunch and to reach dole stay overnight at lodge.

Day 07: Dole to Machhermo (4,470m) 4-5 hours

After breakfast trek to Machhemo, it takes 5 to 6 hours and cross several little villages and amazing scenery khumbu glacier also mt. Everest, mt. lotse, Cho yu and Amadablam Himal. The machhermo village has also inform acute mountain sickness, stay overnight at lodge.

Day 08: Machhermo to Gokyo (4,800 m/15,744) 4-5 hours

After breakfast trek to Gokyo valley, it is beautiful day  khumbu glacier and white Himalayan scenery, today we will reach on Gokyo lake and stay overnight at lodge.

Day 09: Gokyo Valley: Acclimatization Day - Optional Hike to 5th Lake: 6-7 hours

After breakfast visit to fifth lake it takes 6 to 7 hour and return to same place and stay overnight at lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Gokyo Ri and back to Machhermo (4470m) Gokyo Ri (5357m), 8 hours

Early morning hike up Gokyo Ri, which is elevation of (5357m) from Spectacular views mt. everest, Mt. Lhotse. Mt. Pumari, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Barunche, Mt. Cho yu, Amadablam and Many other Expedition. After that will return to same lodge and take breakfast slowly trek to Machhermo and stay Overnight at lodge.

Day 11: Trek from Machhermo to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6 hour

After breakfast trek to Namche, biggest City in Himalayan and also biggest Sherpa village, visit to namche and stay overnight at lodge.

Day 12: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft): 19km, 6 – 7 hours

After breakfast same way to return lukla, easy downhill but more traffic yak, Jhopkyo, Porters toward to manjo.  Before lukla take light lunch and continue to lukla, finaly we will complete our trip and warm up with all team to say good bye for local porters waiting for flight to Kathmandu stay overnight at lodge.

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu (30 Minute) Explore and shopping

After breakfast we short walk to airport and waiting for flight. Because some time very hard to get flight and lots of people waiting. We must reservation for flight before our trip. When we arrived in Kathmandu explore and shopping souvenir to your family.

Day 14: Final International departure

We will drop you to the TIA for your final departure and happy journey your hometown, hope to see you again and good bye.
