Nar Phu Valley Trek Itinerary: The Nar Phu Valley Trek is a less-traveled and off-the-beaten-path adventure in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This trek takes you through the remote valleys of Nar and Phu, offering stunning landscapes, ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture, and breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges. Why Nar Phu Valley is a hidden gem

The Nar Phu Valley is a hidden gem because it is one of the least explored regions of Nepal. It is located in the remote region of Manang and can only be accessed on foot. The valley is home to two villages, Nar and Phu, which have remained untouched by modernity, and the locals still practice their traditional way of life, making it a unique cultural experience for trekkers. The valley offers stunning views of the Annapurna range, including the Annapurna III (7,555 m), Gangapurna (7,455 m), and Tilicho Peak (7,135 m). The trek is also less crowded than some of the more popular treks in the region, allowing trekkers to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the valley in peace.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After arriving in the Kathmandu Valley, our team will be there with one person from our company to pick up you. first of all, we will check out the hotel and take some rest in the hotel, and have our lunch. Taking some rest, we will explore all around the Thamel Bazaar. And makes plans for tomorrow and spends one night.

Day 02: Drive to Jagat (1100m) 8-9 hours

If the hotel is able to ready to make breakfast then we will have our breakfast. And if not then, we will have our breakfast on the way. Today is a long day of trekking because today, we have to drive more than 8 to 9 hours from the Kathmandu valley. We will start our trekking around 7 am from Kathmandu Valley to Jagat. On the way, we will have an opportunity to see the small villages, cities, rivers, farms, and wonderful views of the mountain. The road gets dusty and coarse but the scenic view from our windowpane is more than compensating for the bumpy ridge.

After a few hour’s drive from Kathmandu valley, we will reach Malekhu where we will have our lunch and then take some rest and slowly move towards Jagat. After reach in Jagat, we will check out the hotel and explore all around the village and spend one night.

Day 03: Trekking to Dharapani (1,960m) 7-8 hours

The trail continues through barley, wheat, and potato fields along the pine forest past the village of Kodo taking us to Dharapani. You will witness a few waterfalls which capture your heart. After some hours of walking from Jagat, we will reach Tal. In Tal, we will have our lunch and take some rest. After taking some rest, we will slowly walk towards Dharapani. This amazing village offers you the beautiful scenery of several waterfalls in and around the area. Before reach in Dharapani, you will cross many suspension bridges in lower Dharapani. It takes almost 7 to 8 hours to reach Dharapani where we will spend one night.       

Day 04: Trekking to Koto (2,610m) 5-6 hours

We negotiate a few steep forested ridges along with several landslide en-routes on the west of the deep valley. While doing this trekking, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, beautiful landscapes, and small villages. We walk on the descent trail for an hour until Danaque and then take a steeply ascending trail to Timang. In Timang, we will have an opportunity to have our lunch and take some rest. After taking a rest in Timang, we will move towards Koto where we will spend one night.

Day 05: Trekking to Meta (3,560m) 7-8 hours

The trek starts walking through the riverbank of Suti Khola again through the wonderful pine forest passing many streams and suspension bridges. Trek continues through the densely forested gorge looking behind for a superb view of the Annapurna range, which climbs steeply above the river to the silent forest of vertical world cliff, pine, and bamboo forest. After some hours of walking, we will have our lunch and take some rest and continue our trekking towards Meta. It takes almost 7 to 8 hours to reach Meta from Koto and spend overnight in Meta.

Day 06: Trekking to Phu Gaon (4,250m) 7-8 hours

This day is the 6th day in the Annapurna region in Nar and Phu valley trek. We ascend towards Phu Gaon and villages that houses the very famous Gurung culture in the Annapurna region. During the time trekking, we will have an opportunity to explore the Annapurna conservation area where we will have an opportunity to see many rare birds, animals, flora, and fauna. The trail goes through the forest of pine and rhododendron and after crossing the forest and then after we will reach Kyang where we will have our lunch and take some rest and slowly move towards Phu Gaon. After 7 to 8 hours of walking from Meta, we will reach Phu Gaon where we will spend one night in this beautiful village.

Day 07: Rest day in Phu Gaon

On this day we don’t start our trekking because today is for the rest day but we will explore all around the Phu Gaon. The place also features other essential services. Today we will explore, all around the Phu Gaon and today, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, landscapes, Gurung village, and old monastery in this village. And after exploring all around the villages, we will back to the hotel and spend overnight in this beautiful village.

Day 08: Trekking to Nar (4,110m) 6-7 hours

After having breakfast we will slowly move towards Nar Gaon after spending the wonderful night in Phu Gon. Walking up the thick icy rocks and narrow slippery path to arrive at the village of Gurung and we will have our lunch in this beautiful village and take some rest. During the time trekking, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, landscapes, monasteries, and small villages. We will have an opportunity to explore the Gurung village. The trek crosses exciting suspension bridges on it. It takes 6 to 7 hours to reach Nar Gaon from Phu Gaon where we will spend one night in this beautiful village.

Day 09:  Rest day in Nar

Today we don’t start our trekking because today is for the rest day but we will explore all around the Nar. The place also features other essential services. Today we will explore, all around the Nar, and today, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, landscapes, Gurung village, and the old monastery in this village. And after exploring all around the villages, we will back to the hotel and spend overnight in this beautiful village.

Day 10: Trekking to Ngwal (3,660m) 7-8 hours

On this day we begin our trek by walking through the lush forest, beautiful landscapes, and beautiful villages and we first hike half an hour downhill to the riverside. During the time trekking, we will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain. The trek crosses exciting suspension bridges on it and walks passing by a long Mani stone wall to enter the village of Gurung people where we will have our lunch and take some rest. After having our lunch, we will slowly move towards Nawal. After reach in Ngwal, we will check out the hotel and we will explore all around the village. Upon exploring the village, we will back to the hotel and spend the overnight.

Day 11: Trekking to Manang (3,540m) 4-5 hours

Waking up early in the beautiful valley of Ngwal and we will slowly move towards Manang. Today, we will continue walking towards Manang where we will pass through the lush forest of rhododendron, pine, and juniper. You can enjoy the day wandering around town and the trail first drop down through the ridge and then the walk is fairly easier to Manang. Before reach in Manang, we will reach Braga village where we will have our lunch and take some. It takes almost 4 to 5 hours to reach Manang where we will spend one night.

Day 12: Trekking to Yak Kharka (4,110m) 3-4 hours

The serene environment with meadows and steep slopes of Yak Kharka is the perfect place for us to spend the night. We trek from Manang to Yak Kharka along the same trail used previously and we descend firstly to Tenki before continuing to Yak Kharka. The trail continuously loses altitude and most of the days are spent on the descent. And all the way enjoying the panoramic views of the Himalayan valley and different mountains. It takes almost 3 to 4 hours to reach Yak Kharka from Manang where we will spend one night in this beautiful village.

Day 13: Trekking to Thorong Phedi (4,600m) 3-4 hours

Along the ridge of the Marshyangdi Khola in the shadow of Thorong Phedi. And we will follow the west bank of the riverbed up to the valley of Pisang. We will have an opportunity to explore the Sherpa village. The trek crosses exciting suspension bridges on it and walks passing by a long Mani stone wall to enter the village of Pisang. We will have our lunch in Pisang and takes some rest then after we will move towards Thorong Phedi.

Day 14: Trekking to Jomsom (2,715m) 5-6 hours

Today we will trek toward the second-biggest Hindu and Buddhist Temple. Jomsom is famous as a destination for apple lovers. We will have an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain along the route. The mountain-like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and many more can see from here. We also pass through the lush forest of rhododendron, and pine. Before reach in Jomsom, we will reach Muktinath. In Muktinath, we will have our lunch and explore all around the Muktinath temple. After exploring the Muktinath temple, we will continue trekking towards Jomsom where will spend one night.

Day 15: Fly to Pokhara and drive to Kathmandu

We will drive towards the local airport of Jomsom to fly towards Pokhara early in the morning. After reaching in Pokhara, we will have our lunch and slowly drive towards Kathmandu valley. It takes almost 6 hours to reach Kathmandu Valley from Pokhara. And we will drive towards the hotel and check out the hotel. After checking out the hotel, we will have our lunch and take some rest. If we have time then we will explore all around the Kathmandu valley. And if we have not then in the evening time, we will explore all around the Thamel Bazaar. In the evening time, we will have our farewell dinner and spend a luxurious night in Kathmandu city.    

Day 16: Final departure

In the very early morning, we will slowly drive towards the international airport of Kathmandu according to your flight time. We will hope that you have enjoyed yourself a lot with the team on the Everest trekking routes. And also give an opportunity to serve you again once in life.
