Peaks in the Nepalese Himalayas:

  • Mount Everest (Sagarmatha): At 8,848 meters (29,029 feet), it is the highest mountain in the world. It lies on the border between Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
  • Kanchenjunga: The third highest mountain in the world at 8,586 meters (28,169 feet), located on the border between Nepal and India.
  • Lhotse: The fourth highest peak, standing at 8,516 meters (27,940 feet), is located near Everest.
