Manaslu Circuit Trek Package: Price, Itinerary & Permit Guide

Manaslu Circuit Trek Package: Price, Itinerary & Permit Guide
21/Sep/2026

A Manaslu Circuit Trek package usually costs between USD 790 and USD 1,550.

The gap comes from comfort level, group size, and trip length. This guide shows what that money covers, which permits you need, and how the 14 days unfold!

Manaslu is a restricted area, so planning here works differently from Everest or Annapurna. It also sees far fewer trekkers, which means simpler lodges and more remote villages. Let’s see what a typical Manaslu Circuit Trek package offers in this article.

What Does a Manaslu Circuit Trek Package Include?

Most packages bundle transport, permits, lodging, meals, and a guide. Here is what our package at Everest Trekking Routes covers and what it leaves to you.

Cost Includes

  • Private airport and hotel transfers in Kathmandu

  • Local express bus from Kathmandu to Machha Khola

  • Shared jeep from Tilche to Besisahar, then a local bus to Kathmandu

  • 2 nights in a 3-star Kathmandu hotel with breakfast

  • 12 breakfasts, 12 lunches, and 11 dinners on the trek, each with tea or coffee

  • Private twin-sharing rooms throughout the trek

  • All four permits: Manaslu RAP, MCAP, ACAP, and the local municipality permit

  • A licensed, English-speaking guide, with salary, meals, lodging, and insurance covered

  • Sleeping bag and duffle bag, returned after the trip

  • Emergency helicopter arrangement, paid by your travel insurance

  • Government taxes, service charges, and an Adventure Certificate

Cost Excludes

  • Kathmandu meals beyond hotel breakfast, and extra hotel nights

  • Private jeep and helicopter charges

  • A porter for the full trip (USD 240 per porter)

  • Travel and rescue insurance, plus personal gear

  • Hot showers, drinks, bottled water, laundry, calls, and device charging

  • Tips for guides, porters, and drivers

Insurance deserves attention! Your policy must cover helicopter evacuation, because we arrange the rescue and your insurer pays for it. Standard travel policies often stop at 3,000 m, so confirm yours names high-altitude trekking.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Package Price in 2026/27

Prices change with the number of days and the service level. As a result, no two quotes look the same.

Budget, standard, and luxury packages mainly differ in lodging, transport, and how private the service is:

Package Level Typical Market Range (per person) ETR Package Cost (varies based on no. of days)
Budget USD 850–1,000 USD 790–850
Standard USD 1,200–1,300 USD 925–1090
Luxury USD 1,400–2,000+ USD 1490–1825

Autumn costs more than spring because the RAP fee rises. A private vehicle, an extra porter, or added days also lift the total.

Therefore, compare what each quote includes, not only the headline number!

Manaslu Restricted Area Permit and Other Permits

You need four permits for this route:

  • Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (RAP): USD 100 for the first 7 days from September to November, then USD 15 per extra day. From December to August, USD 75 and USD 10.

  • Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP): NPR 3,000

  • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): NPR 3,000, because the trail exits through Dharapani

  • Chumnubri rural municipality permit: NPR 1,000

The RAP is the one that matters most! Only a registered trekking agency can process it through the Department of Immigration.

Individuals cannot apply, so independent trekking is not possible here. Since 22 March 2026, a single trekker can apply without a partner. The agency requirement stayed, though.

We at Everest Trekking Routes handle every permit, so you only send your passport copy, visa details, and insurance information. Allow at least 2 working days in Kathmandu, since offices close on weekends.

14-Day Manaslu Circuit Itinerary

This is our standard route. Times are approximate and shift with weather and trail conditions.

Day Route Altitude Time
1 Arrive in Kathmandu 1,400 m Transfer
2 Drive Kathmandu to Machha Khola 930 m 6 to 7 hrs
3 Machha Khola to Jagat 1,410 m 6 to 7 hrs
4 Jagat to Deng 1,860 m 6 to 7 hrs
5 Deng to Namrung 2,630 m 6 to 7 hrs
6 Namrung to Lho 3,180 m 4 hrs
7 Lho to Samagaon 3,530 m 4 hrs
8 Rest day in Samagaon 3,530 m Acclimatization
9 Samagaon to Samdo 3,860 m 4 to 5 hrs
10 Samdo to Dharamsala (Larkya Base Camp) 4,460 m 4 to 5 hrs
11 Dharamsala to Bimthang over Larkya La 5,106 m pass, 3,720 m 8 to 9 hrs
12 Bimthang to Tilche 2,262 m 6 to 7 hrs
13 Tilche to Besisahar, then bus to Kathmandu 1,400 m 8 to 9 hrs
14 Final international departure

Day 8 gives your body a rest at Samagaon, and many groups walk toward Manaslu Base Camp that day.

On Day 11, you start early to cross Larkya La before the wind builds. Once you reach Bimthang, the trail meets the Annapurna Conservation Area and ends at Tilche, with an option to trek up to Dharapani, meeting the Annapurna Circuit trail.

How Hard is the Manaslu Circuit Trek?

The trek is demanding, mainly because of altitude and the long pass day rather than technical terrain.

You sleep above 3,000 m from Lho onward. For this reason, the rest day at Samagaon matters!

Dharamsala at 4,460 m then sets up the Larkya La crossing at 5,106 m. So, we recommend a guide because wind, cold, and altitude symptoms can change quickly (and it’s compulsory anyway!).

To reduce the difficulty, we recommend regular hill walking before you arrive makes the biggest difference!

Best Time, Internet, and Packing

Autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) work best for Manaslu Circuit Trek.

That’s because both seasons give the clearest views (although monitoring weather is still highly suggested).

On the other hand, winter often closes the pass, and the monsoon brings landslides. After the rains, we at Everest Trekking Routes check road and bridge conditions before every departure (another perk to book this trek with us)!

Furthermore, teahouse rooms are basic, and phone signal turns unreliable as you climb. Wi-Fi and charging cost extra and work unevenly.

One more recommendation from our team: bring enough Nepali rupees for the whole trek as ATMs are few and far between on the trail. Pack warm layers, broken-in boots, and a water bottle. Don’t worry, we lend the sleeping bag for peak seasons (at a minimal fee)!

Final Words: Is a Manaslu Circuit Trek Package Necessary?

Yes, it is a must if you plan to trek Manaslu!

The RAP only comes through a registered agency, so an agency-arranged package is your way in. It is also worth it!

One price covers permits, transport, lodging, meals, and safety support, and you skip the paperwork stress in Kathmandu. You have already read this far, so you know what the trek asks of you. Come and join us at Everest Trekking Routes.
