Australian Camp Trek

Australian Camp trek is both a famous and easy trekking route of the Annapurna region which starts from Phedia one hour drive from Pokhara. This trekking route is the best for that trekker who wishing to experience the beautiful Nepal mountain scenery and the ethnic culture of the Nepalese people in a short time.We will see small teashops dotted along the trails which make our trekking interesting and we will also see the famous Machhapuchare Peak which can always be seen from any point on this trek.

We trek to Australian Camp which is in the center of the Dhampus Jungle and there are comfortable lodges. In the night time, we can enjoy the beautiful night lights of Pokhara city and we have categorized this short trip as a luxury lodge trek to Annapurna.

From Australian Camp to Phedi the trek climbs for 2 hours to Dhampus village hiking through a beautiful jungle trail with birds singing. This trekking trail offers you a beautiful view over the village and awesome views of the Annapurna mountain range.  Dhampus is the beautiful village with a number of slate-roofed houses and a paved country yard Buddhist monastery.

This trek also affords us the opportunity for a close look at the daily lives of the villagers of the ethnic Gurung people.The Australian camp trek is also part of the Annapurna trek which gives you a great vista of the Himalayan range. It provides great Jungle scenery and awesome views from Dhampus Hill of Annapurna South, Machhapuchare, Mt Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Dhampus Peak, Nilgiri, and Himchuli. Outline itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

Day 02: Drive or fly towards Pokhara 6-7 hours

Day 03: Drive to Kande and trek to Australian Camp/2100m.

Day 04: Trek to Phedi and drive to Pokhara.

Day 05: Pokhara sightseeing

Day 06: Drive to Kathmandu

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

After arriving in Kathmandu, a delegate from Everest Trekking Routes will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you may take a rest or visit the Everest Trekking Routes office. In the evening there will be welcome dinner given by Everest Trekking Routes where you will be served Nepalese food which will introduce you to the country’s food culture.

Day 02:  Drive or fly towards Pokhara 6-7 hours

Early in the morning, you will travel to Pokhara. If you have chosen to fly we will drive you to the Domestic Airport for the 25-minute flight. During the short flight, you will have views of the glorious Manaslu Peaks and the snow-capped Annapurna and Langtang Himalaya ranges. And if you are going by tourist bus to Pokhara, the drive will be about 6-7 hours on the Prithvi Highway. After reaching Pokhara you can explore the local places and their culture. It is an exciting and romantic drive that we can enjoy the beautiful scenic view of terraced rice field, eye-catching landscapes, and wonderful views of the mountain. The evening can be spent strolling around the beautiful lake area and we will spend one night in this beautiful Pokhara City. 

Day 03: Drive to Kande and trek to Australian Camp/2100m. 

You will be picked from the hotel to move towards Kande after having breakfast early in the morning. We get chance to see the wonderful views of the mountains including Annapurna, Machhapuchher, and other mountains. After reaching Kande we will have our lunch and take some rest then after we will also move towards Australian Camp where we will spend one night in this beautiful place.    

Day 04: Trek to Phedi and Dhampus and then drive to Pokhara.

We have breakfast early in the morning at the lodge then after we will move towards Phedi. The trail is all the way down from Australian camp to Phedi.  During the time of trekking, we will pass through the many beautiful villages, landscapes and we will walk on the way of the lush forest of Rhododendron, pine, and oak. After reaching Phedi we will have our lunch in this village then after we will take some rest. After Lunch, we will move towards Dhampus and from Dhampus we will move towards Pokhara. We will spend one night in Pokhara.    

Day 05: Pokhara sightseeing

Today we don't start our trekking because today we will explore all around the Pokhara city. This city is also known as the city of the lake. After having breakfast early in the morning first of all we will go to see the amazing views of Mountain from the Chinese Gumba then after we will go to visit Phewa Lake from where we can see the wonderful views of the mountain. We will have our lunch on the way then after we will visit rest of the places of Pokhara city. Then after we will come back to them and we will spend one night in Pokhara city.   

Day 06: Drive to Kathmandu 

In the morning time around the 7:00 am we will drive towards Kathmandu valley. We get chance to see the wonderful scenery of Nepal. After reach in Kathmandu valley, First of all, we will check out our hotel first then after we will explore all around the Thamel Bazaar and have a farewell dinner. And return back to the hotel and spend one night in this village.

Day 07: Final Departure

We will drop you at the International Airport with our vehicle for your departure and we will see you off.
