The Everest Trekking Routes Pvt. Ltd. is one of the leading trekking agencies for any kinds of trekking activities inside Nepal. Moreover, the agency specializes in operating a momentous and hassle free trekking activities inside the Everest region of Nepal. Most of the trekking crew members are Sherpa. Therefore, trekking in Everest region of Nepal with us ensures authenticity, flexibility, safety, affordability, and hospitality.
There are two ways to reach Everest Base Camp. You can reach either by using helicopter or by trekking. The most recommended way to reach the Everest Base Camp is trekking. In order to do the trekking, trekkers have to fly to Lukla airport. The town of Lukla is the gateway to Everest. The Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla is considered as the world’s most extreme airport. In addition, the unpredictable weather conditions, difficult terrain, short runway, and high altitude make this airport one of the dangerous airport of the world. Interestingly, this airport is the only lifeline for people of Khumbu and for trekkers.
Nowadays, trekkers can reach Lukla via road as well. However, the condition of road is not good as it is still under construction. Salleri to Surke is still bumpy and newly opened track. Therefore, four wheel jeeps are only possible. In this Everest Base Camp Trek package, we will use the Lukla Flights to reach Lukla. If you want to take the road route instead of Lukla flight route then please check our Everest Base Camp Trek via Road Package. Consult with our travel planners.
It takes about 8 days to reach Everest Base Camp from Lukla including two acclimatization days. The trekking trail is well maintained as it is one of the major and commercial trekking routes of Nepal. Suspension bridges, changing vegetation and landscape, high altitude, glacial rivers, glaciers, monasteries, and Sherpa villages are highlights of this trek. The chance to witness more than a dozen mountains up close is the major highlight of this trekking trip in Nepal. These mountains include three top ten mountains of the world. They are Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Choyou! The total walking distance between Lukla and Everest Base Camp is about 65 kilometers. The total round trip distance between Lukla and Everest Base Camp is 130 kilometers. This distance is including two acclimatization hikes.
Trekking in high altitude destinations is always risky in terms of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Moreover, the condition of trekking route and types of services offered by trekking agencies also matter in terms of safety during the trek. As for popularity, the natural attractions and cultural attractions are major factor. In addition, the significance of the final destination plays vital role in the popularity of any trekking routes.
The EBC Trek route is safe when you choose to do trekking by booking with reliable trekking agency like The Everest Trekking Routes Pvt. Ltd. The planning and consultation with us ensure that the trek is successful without any kinds of hassles. Travel insurance plan that has emergency helicopter rescue, medical expenses, and accidents also help trekkers to confidently trek in the trekking route. Accommodation and food during the Everest trekking is top notch. Trekkers can find different styles of lodging facilities during the Everest trek. These facilities range from basic tea house to luxurious resorts. However, as you go higher the quality of tea houses decreases. In high altitude places, all you need is a warm food and warm place to spend a night!
Therefore, factors like medical check posts, security posts; reliable trekking support crew members, quality lodging, healthy food, and presence of mountains like Mt. Everest and village of Sherpa People make this trek route safe and popular.
The best time to travel to Nepal for Everest Trekking is during months of spring and autumn season. During this time of the year, temperature is warm and sky is clear. The chances of flight cancellation and low visibility of mountains are very less while trekking during this time of year in Nepal.

Airport representative of the Everest Trekking Routes Pvt. Ltd. will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer you to hotel. All trip details are discussed and you can do last minute shopping around Thamel. You will be introduced to your trekking guide and the agency will host the welcome dinner. Overnight in a hotel
Early in the morning we will head to domestic airport in Kathmandu for the flight to Lukla. Please remember that during peak trekking season you may have to use jeep drive for about 4 hours to reach Ramechhap Airport. Lukla flight is conducted from Ramechhap Airport instead of Kathmandu Airport. The flight is an adventure in itself. As the small plane hovers over the big hills and narrow river valleys, you will feel amazed as well as anxious. Upon landing in the airport, we will stop for a short coffee break where we will meet our rest of the crew members. All baggage is packed and we start our trek to Phakding after getting Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality permit in Lukla.
The trail is along the bank of Dudhkoshi River as we cross suspension bridges and walk through various small villages. Phakding is situated on the bank of river and it is our first overnight resting place in this trek. Overnight in a tea house
Initially, we will walk on the Nepalese gentle flat with few small uphill sections. At Monjo we will enter the Sagarmatha National Park where we will also get our National Park permit. There are several suspension bridges in today’s trek. The most iconic one is the Twin Bridge at the foothill of Namche Bazaar. There are two hanging bridge in which we will cross from the top bridge and lower bridge is now used as the bungee place. It is completely uphill until we reach Namche Bazaar upon crossing the Twin Bridge.
The first sight of Mount Everest is also seen today when we walk halfway through the uphill. It depends upon the weather conditions too. Once we are at Namche Bazaar all tiredness of walking uphill vanishes as we will get the enticing image of beautiful Namche Bazaar with mesmerizing scenery of Mt. Thamserku and Mt. Kwangde in front. You can stroll around this marketplace and enjoy the clamor of Sherpa heartland! Overnight in a tea house
On this day we will do acclimatization activity after breakfast. Once we take our breakfast, we will start our hike to the Everest View Hotel (3880 m). At first we will visit the Memorial Park that is located at the top of Namche Bazaar. The scenery of mountains and river valleys looks spectacular from this park. After a while we will continue our hike through grassy meadows and small bushes to the Everest View Hotel. On the way we will also visit the Syangboche Airport.
At the Everest View Hotel we will take small break and enjoy the majestic view of mountains. Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Tabuche, Amadablam, etc. are seen from the balcony of the hotel. We will have our lunch and the return back to Namche Bazaar. Overnight in a tea house
Our trek starts after taking breakfast. Today we will head to Phortse Village (3870 m). The trail is relatively easy as majority of the trek is either on a Nepalese flat or downhill. You will have to trek about an hour of uphill from Phortse Thanga to Phortse village. The village is in the foothill of Tabuche Mountain. There are many monasteries, Sherpa homes, and terraced farmlands in this village. Enjoy the scenery of Amadablam and River Valley. Overnight in a tea house
You don’t have to walk vertical uphill sections but the trail gently move upwards. Before reaching Dingboche village we will visit another big village called Pangboche. The lunch will be at Somare which is the small village located in the outskirts of Pangboche. It is basically a lunch stop place rather than a village. From this place onwards we will walk through open valley and enter the Dingboche Village. Overnight in a tea house
We will do our second acclimatization on this day. As a part of acclimatization we will climb the Nagarshan hill (5100 m). The hike is tiring but it is rewarding as you can get the glimpses of lots of mountains like Choyou, Cholatse, Pumori, Tabuche, Amadablam, etc. After a hike we will return back to Dingboche for lunch and rest in tea house. You can choose to stroll around the village as well. This is the last densely populated village in this trekking route. Overnight in a tea house
Today we will start our trekking after breakfast and walk a gentle uphill to Nagarshan Base Camp and continue our trekking on a gentle flat to Thukla. We will have our lunch at Thukla. The trek after lunch is tiring as we will have to walk uphill. Upon reaching the top of Thukla Pass we will take a brief stop and observe various memorial of climbers who lost their lives during the Everest expedition.
The trail from Thukla Pass to Lobuche is rugged and over the rocky trail. On the bank of Lobuche River there are few tea houses. Enjoy the sight of Mt. Pumori and Lobuche from this place. Overnight in a tea house
It is a remarkable day of our trekking trip. Today we will reach the Everest Base Camp. After about 3 hours of walking we will reach Gorakshep. Lobuche to Gorakshep trail is through moraine and glacier. Tread carefully while walking as it is tiring and challenging to navigate through rocks. You may end up walking on a wrong trail if you are not careful. Upon reaching Gorakshep we will have our lunch and start a hike to Everest Base Camp. After about 1.5 to 2 hours we will reach the Everest Base Camp. Enjoy your time at the foothill of Mt. Everest. After spending about an hour in the base camp we will return back to Gorakshep. Overnight in a tea house.
Early in the morning we will start our uphill hike to Kalapathar peak 5545. Please follow your trekking guide as we will start to trek before the sunrise so the time is very early and dark. We will cherish the mesmerizing view of mountain and sun rising from the casement of mountains. After such an experience, we will head back to Gorakshep and take breakfast. We will retrace the same trail back to Pheriche via Lobuche and Thukla. We leave the Dingboche trail and trek straight downhill from Thukla to Pheriche. Overnight in a tea house
While returning back to Namche Bazaar we will take the route of Tengboche Monastery instead of Phortse village. We will also spend about 10 to 15 minutes inside the monastery and continue our trek to Namche Bazaar. The trail from Phungi Thanga to Kyangjuma is challenging as it is uphill but once you are at Kyangjuma the trail starts to become easier. Stroll around the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar in the evening. You can choose to enjoy yourself in various eateries and bars. There are many souvenir shops in the town where you can buy something for a memory. Overnight in a tea house
We will retrace back to Lukla via Monjo and Phakding. In the evening we will bid farewell to our local staffs. Lunch will be at Phakding. The return trek is always mesmerizing in terms of experience. While trekking uphill we are more concerned about an altitude and as the altitude increases we feel uneasy to breathe. Therefore, most of our trekkers enjoy the return trek. As altitude decreases your fatigue start to disappear and you will enjoy the surrounding view more gleefully. We will enjoy our success with lots of dance, songs, and celebration! Overnight in a tea house
We will take our flight from Lukla to either Kathmandu airport or Ramechhap airport. In the evening at Kathmandu, the agency will host a farewell dinner at the traditional Nepalese Cultural Restaurant. We will enjoy the cultural dance and local Nepalese cuisine. All trip details will be discussed and experiences will be shared. Overnight in a tea house
Finally, we will take you to the International Airport and bid farewell with promise to meet again.
The Everest Base Camp Trek is a renowned trekking route in the Everest region of Nepal, leading trekkers to the base camp of Mount Everest. It offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks and provides an opportunity to experience the Sherpa culture.
The trek typically takes around 10 to 12 days, depending on the route chosen and the pace of the trekker. This duration includes acclimatization days to prevent altitude sickness.
The best time for the Everest Base Camp Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These periods offer stable weather and clear skies, providing excellent views of the mountains.
Prior trekking experience is not necessary, but it’s recommended to have a reasonable level of fitness and stamina. The trek involves walking for several hours each day at a high altitude, so some level of physical preparation is advisable.
Trekkers require two permits: the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit. These permits can be obtained in Kathmandu or directly in the Everest region.
Yes, altitude sickness is a potential risk due to the high altitude of the trek. It’s essential to acclimatize properly by ascending gradually and staying hydrated. Trekkers should be aware of the symptoms of altitude sickness and be prepared to descend if necessary.
Accommodation options along the trekking route range from basic tea houses to more comfortable lodges. Tea houses provide simple rooms with shared facilities, while some lodges offer private rooms and attached bathrooms. It’s advisable to book accommodation in advance during the peak trekking seasons.
Essential items include trekking boots, warm clothing layers, a sleeping bag, a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, a first aid kit, and personal toiletries. It’s also crucial to carry sufficient snacks and water bottles during the trek.
Mobile phone coverage is available in some parts of the trekking route, but it can be unreliable. Many tea houses and lodges offer Wi-Fi for a fee, but the connection may be slow or intermittent.
While it’s possible to trek independently, hiring a trekking guide and/or porter is recommended for safety and convenience, especially for those without prior trekking experience. Guides provide valuable assistance with navigation, cultural insights, and emergency support, while porters can help carry heavy backpacks, allowing trekkers to focus on enjoying the journey.

It was such a hard fight to join this trip. Because I had to work hard to find funding for this training. It is the first summit I attended team NOBAT ( No Boundary Adventurers Association Sabah ) to the Himalayas with AMG (Adventure Mountain Guide Rabin Gurung), I gained a great experience, which Mr. Rabin Gurung was very friendly and kind as a mountain guide who experience he made this trip so enjoyable, and build a better friendship.
I would like to thank him for giving the best service to us, this is the first time I walk for 21 days hahaha. In every step, he remained faithful to accompany and not leave us, even though there are 2 people in our group who did not succeed, and he sent us back to our high camp Lobuche to support the spirit reaching the summit of Lobuche Peak Climbing.
Nice trip and good services such as tents, food, and stories you tell about your family, it is good, and I enjoyed the trip because you protected me and my team so much.
Keep up the good work you AMG! I am happy to see and to know you! Good luck! * extra bonus able to speak Bahasa Melayu! hehe

I’m so grateful that I finally finished the trekking, and this must be credited to our professional guide, Rabin! He is so nice! He cared for us so much, and greeted us with his big warming smile during the whole journey! Before this trekking, the highest place I had ever been was only 934 meters, I was so worried about high altitude problem. But In fact, my adaptability was pretty good, cuz Rabin’s trekking plan was so suitable for me that I finally reached EBC and Kala Pattar under the snow and strong winds! When we backed to Island Peak Base Camp after the summit, he brought hot drinks and biscuits and waited for us on the way, that was so sweet and we were really really exhausted and hungry at that time, he just like an angel showed up to us!. It’s a great trekking journey and I really thank Rabin’s guiding and accompanying us! We shared precious moments on this journey!.
This was my first time trekking and the whole experience was unforgettable thanks to the help of my guide phul and organised by Rabin gurung from Everest trekking routes . Anything I needed he was more than happy to help. I would recommend this trek to anyone wanting a once in a lifetime experience in Nepal.

My once-in-a-lifetime experience with colleagues from Everest Trekking Routes Pvt. Ltd. started in the early season in 2023 in mid-February. After planning the trip without any problems and answering all the necessary questions via email or WhatsApp, I was met by Rabin (the boss of the trekking agency) at the airport in Kathmandu and then taken to the hotel, where I was finally able to meet my guide for the 12-day tour to Mount Everest Base Camp. Su Sil is an ideal hiking companion who, in addition to his profound knowledge of the region around Mount Everest, has a friendly and cheerful manner. The hotel, where I stayed the first night, left nothing to be desired and corresponded to an upper class hotel by Napalese standards.
The next morning, the flight left for Lukla at 7am as planned, Su Sil -my travel guide- had all the necessary documents for the flight ready and the adventure towards Mount Everest began…
My booking included an all-inclusive service, so you got 3 meals a day plus a fruit plate to cover your vitamin needs. The accommodation (tea houses) was chosen by the guide in a sensible and appropriate way along the way. In addition, Su Sil always had all the necessary documents for entering the national park at hand. From an altitude of 5000m above sea level, the altitude slowly began to affect me and I suffered extremely badly from altitude sickness, which manifested itself in headaches, loss of appetite and sleeplessness. However, Su Sil had all the necessary medication with him to reduce the effects of altitude sickness to a minimum. Su Sil could speak and understand English without any problems and could also respond to deep thought processes and follow other conversations without any problems. I also came into contact with other trekking groups, as the open-hearted nature of the trekking guides, often in the evenings by the fireplace in the tea house, led to conversations with people from all over the world, which were intensified by the positive mood of the guides among themselves.
At the end of the almost 2-week trek and after successfully climbing the first base camp of Mount Everest and Kala Patthar (5644m), I was again accommodated in the hotel from the first night for one last night. The hotel also has a spa and wellness area, which was logically used directly. The trekkers’ massage is highly recommended!
All in all, the 12-day trip was an absolutely incredible experience. After having been around the world a lot, my expectations were initially a bit low, but in the middle of the trip they were completely fulfilled by the friendliness of the people, the Nepalese culture and the incomparable beauty of the mountain ranges. I was also able to build up a very friendly relationship with my guide, in which we support each other, talk positively to each other and use every conceivable minute for the most diverse conversations.
Thank you for this experience and I will definitely be back!

The english communication per E-Mail an WhatsApp with Rabin was obviously struktured. The Time schedule was individually created to our needs. Possible Additions to the Trip were disscussed and added, if they are possible. The Services, which are inclueded on the Trip, are clearly defined, so no misunderstandings could arise. Our Guide Sushil was so courteous and very helpful. All in all an unforgettable Trip with a perfect Team.
We could recommend the relaxed Offseason at EBC in February/March.

Danke Rabin!

We did a 12 days EBC trek with our guide Dhansingh Gurung (his whatsapp number is +977-984-34512310 on 17 Nov to 29 Nov 2023. We would like to thanks Dhansingh for making this trip possible because we are a family of 2 adults and 3 children, aged between 14-16 years old. Dhansingh had make our trekking more pleasant and easier by encouraging and taking care of the younger trekkers. I strongly recommended those people who intends to bring their younger family members to engage Dhansingh as your guide. Prior to the trip, many people discouraged me from bringing the young ones to trek 12 days to EBC! But I did not adhere to their advises and carry on the plan. Dhansingh and his team were to professional and attentive to our needs, even on the first day of arrival to Kathumuda. I reckon that there is no regrets to bring the young ones to explore the truly nature of Nepal during the 12 days EBC trek. Please contact Dhansingh if you have any questions and doubts about travelling with young family members to EBC.

Everest Base Camp Trek with Suk Bahadur Gurung
Searching for the perfect company to embark on the EBC trek was not easy when doing research on who to go with. I happen to have really lucked out by choosing to go with Everest Trekking Routes, because they were great, through and through.
I did the trek in November but started inquiring with them back in February. Rabin is the CEO of the company, and he has helped me in every way possible. He was prompt in answering my questions via email and meticulously arranged the EBC trek, which felt customized to all my needs. In person, he was kind and courteous. And my guide Suk was friendly and helpful throughout the hike. He had brought all the necessary medication for me and asked every day how I was feeling. Suk is also a very good card player and was grateful for his company on the 12-day hike/ Kathmandu City Hike.
I’m sure most of you reading this have gone with some tour company elsewhere in the world, and perhaps you might agree that most of them have treated you as simply a commodity in the assembly line. By going with Everest Trekking Routes, I never felt that. Rabin and Suk took care of me from beginning to end, and I sing all their praises for getting me to Everest Base Camp, which was a major deal for me and my friends and Family. Rabin and Suk became family to me. Thank you for everything, guys!
